About Jessica Dhakira
Born and raised in Berkshire United Kingdom, Jessica Dhakira discovered a passion for poetry at the age of seven. This early love of words would lead her into a vibrant career within the music industry, where she collaborated with numerous artists…most notably appearing alongside the late recording artist, Coolio on the popular show Top of the Pops.
Whilst building her career as a session singer and award winning songwriter, Jessica also devoted her talents to writing and fund raising for children’s homes, such as SOVHEN community initiative improving the lives of orphans in Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi, Hospice of Toronto, Gilda's Club providing invaluable cancer care in Middle Tennessee, Dream a Dream charitable trust for vulnerable youth, amongst others. "What a blessing to be able to connect with youngsters through music and story telling, especially in extremely challenging times for the families, as well as the dear children."
After graduating from Buckinghamshire and Chilterns University with an honours degree in music business, Jess worked in artist & repertoire for a major record label and collaborated with a children's entertainment company, organising events, at the same time raising twin boys, she later expanded her creative skills through production courses and formal training in creative writing.
She continues to grow as a writer through her involvement in writing workshops at selfpublishing.com and by hosting writing groups.
